Despite the fact that I know that Wrath is still months away and many things are yet to change (probably a lot), I just can’t help but play around with the talent calculator and prepare my next spec.

Here goes:
http://wotlk.wowhead.com/?talent=f0eboeZMIVbbVzxMGRVdVo

The build is 19/51/0 and not a whole lot has changed from my current 20/41/0 build.

First off, the change to Vile Poisons from a 5 point to a 3 point talent (love it!) gives me an extra point which I popped into Nerves of Steel to finish it off. This sits me at 19/42 with 10 points yet to spend. 5 of those immediately go into Prey on the Weak as it is practically a guaranteed 25% bonus critical strike damage and that’s just a no-brainer. Pop a point into the 51-point talent Murder Spree which I just know is going to be a big damage dealer in single mob boss encounters. I then put 2 points into Unfair Advantage. Originally I was not a fan of this talent as a talent that procs off of your dodge isn’t exactly the best for a raiding rogue who shouldn’t be getting hit all that often anyways. However, since they appear to have changed the talent to increase your critical strike chance by 2% for 8 seconds every time you hit with a critical strike I’ll take it in a heartbeat. Part of me wonders if it will be able to refresh itself, I kind of doubt it but that would be sweet. The last two points are a bit of a toss up. For the moment I have them in Endurance, a useful ability that some rogues currently choose over Improved Spirit (A personal preference really; I prefer the snare break for some annoying trash encounters). While I’m glad to have the points to pick up Endurance now, part of me feels like Throwing Specialization is the way to go. My reason for this is I feel that presence of this talent may indicated that this ability will be disappearing from PvP gloves. So what? The interrupt is mostly a PvP ability, we have kick for our PvE interrupting needs. While this is true for the most part, I personally use PvP gloves and Deadly Throw to interrupt on the Illidari Council to allow myself to avoid AoE easier and once again the presence of this talent leads me to believe that there will be more and more encounters where a Deadly Throw interrupt will be extremely useful if not 100% necessary. Only time will tell on that one.

As you can see, I’ve decided (for the moment) to stick with a Combat Build even though Mutilate appears to be getting a lot of love. This is more of a sticking with what I know thing than anything else. I could certainly find myself Mutilate spec if the Dagger/Mutilate build turns into the powerhouse they are claiming it could be.
