So another week begins. I choose Monday as the beginning of the week for no real reason despite the fact that technically the week begins on Sunday and for us WoW obsessed Tuesday, being the raid reset day, would make a better choice. But Monday it is! I played a lot this weekend, probably in the realm of far too much. On Saturday I ran heroics until my eyes bled. You ever reach that point where you close your eyes and you can still see your UI burned into the inside of your eyelids? Well, that’s where I was. It was rather convenient actually as it allowed me to continue playing while keeping my eyes closed to prevent the aforementioned blood from falling on my pants. When I cut myself shaving on Sunday and thought that I could just patch that up with a Heavy Frostweave Bandage I decided I needed to walk away and spend some time outside. Silly choice really, it’s cold outside and there are no questgivers or wandering mobs, unless you count my neighbor. He’s kind of a big guy so I think he counts as a world boss. I didn’t think I could solo him so I went back inside, I’m pretty sure he just drops Hunter loot anyways.
Last Week’s Results
I succeeded in most of my to-dos from last week.
- Lockpicking
- Leatherworking
- Heroics
- I over exceed my reputation goals, hitting revered with Knights of the Ebon Blade and Wyrmrest Accord while being just one daily quest away from Honor with the Sons of Hodir.
I’m sitting at 386 and moving along nicely. Quick Tip: At 375 you can pick the lock of the door to Violet Hold.
Here’s my fail. I’m only at 228. I spent more time running Heroics than farming. I think I made the right choice.
Like I mentioned earlier with the whole eye bleeding rant. I ran a lot of Heroics. Enough to pick up my Mirror of Truth. I also was lucky enough to pick up Greed. It’s a cool weapon even if it does look like I’m wearing a wooden hand puppet.
Interesting side-note, this marks the first time that I’ve ever used a fist weapon outside of just to level the skill.
This weeks list
- Lockpicking
- Leatherworking
- Reputations
- Wyrmrest Accord – Exalted (I just want to stop wearing that ugly tabard)
- Sons of Hodir – Revered
- Achievements
Finish it up. Shouldn’t be hard if I just remember to swing by the Violet Hold door whenever I’m in the area.
This is proving to be more a grind than I expected. I’m going to set a goal of a modest 435.
Finish up the quests in Icecrown and receive the Loremaster of Northrend achievement. Then I can start thinking about returning to outland of a bit to pickup that achievement, though I doubt I’ll do that, but that won’t stop me from thinking about it.
Closing Thoughts
The five man dungeons are very cool and the fact that you can do one in 30-45 minutes is a nice touch. There seems to be far less trash and I for one find that to be a good thing. At the moment I think I find the Culling of Stratholme to be my favorite (if only because I like sprinting around spamming Fan of Knives) with Violet Hold coming in a close second (so..much..leather).
