Ah poisons, not rogue should be without a stack of them all even if you never really use on particular type, I’m looking at you Anesthetic Poison. But do you really need to waste a space on your bars for every single poison? No, of course not. Wowwiki has an excellent section of Rogue Macros. A certain number of them are out of date and there is a lot to dig through but there is a nice gem in the center of it all:

#showtooltip
/use [modifier:ctrl] Deadly Poison IX; [modifier:alt] Crippling Poison; [modifier:shift] Instant Poison IX; Wound Poison VII
/use [button:1] 16; [button:2] 17

This beautiful little macro will give you 4 poisons in a single button. Deadly when holding Ctrl, Crippling when holding Alt, Instant when holding Shift and Wound otherwise. As an added bonus it will automatically place the poison on your mainhand if you left click and on your offhand if you right click.

Happy Friday

  1. Pure win. Thank you!

  2. Removing an enrage effect useful during Gluth, if you don’t have a hunter with Tranq shot.

  3. I noticed a slight problem with this macro. I’m using at as a level 74 rogue. When I tried to apply deadly poison, I got an error message that said “Can’t use that yet”. The problem was I had one charge of deadly poison that was at too high of a level for me to use and the macro was attempting to apply that poison to my dagger even though I had the name of the level appropriate poison in the macro. If you had the same problem, just sell, destroy, or bank the poison that is too high for you to use.
