Dont use shiv, nd use wound instead of instant
with wound poison on and snd up u hit more and fastr

im a combat rogue and i have 4.9 gs and i can only do 2k dps what am i doing wrong?

Thanks for the breakdown of the rotation. I personally use combat swords as my weapon of choice and am getting into Heroics and raids so thought i might want to research my rotation. Just a thought though. Does the ability [Shiv] also work for sinister strike because at the moment i use both. Thanks again for the info that you have put together here.

I always begin with Tricks and then i start with 2-3 CP then SnD.After that 5 CP then Eviscerate then again the same rotation.I keep always up SnD and i use Blade Flurry then Killing Spree.After those two i use Adrenaline Rush and trinket(if u still have it).My talents are 20/51/0.With that rotation i always have on static fights in ICC over 12k dps.And my glyphs are SS,Evisc and KS

This post is a bit dated now seeing as the dominant pve combat build these days is 20/51/0. But thanks for the info either way, the rotation is still valid if you choose a rupture based combat build. I found a great post on a ruptureless 20/51/0 build here:

If my MH is 2.6 do want a 1.5 OH or would a 2.6 OH be good?

I am dual spec, with them both being combat (these specs are for raiding) 20/51/0. Only difference is I have one for mobility and one for stationary fights. I use sword/axe with IP on MH and DP on OH. Socketed with pretty much all arpmen gems I stay around 5kdps unbuffed. Untill I get armpen caped (witch I belive is around 1k-1.2k) I will stay with mostly armpen gems. I like the rotation that is given with the BF then AR, SS, and SnD. The use of the KS when ur low on energy works verywell. The only thing im not sure about is why use rupture instead of doing Eviscerate when ur SnD is up and with 5cp. I know it can crit now but It dosen’t seem to be better dps. I guess I will have to w8 and see when Im armpen capped.

yes im combat and favor the sword/sword, using the 15/51/5 spec above. It was awfully close to what i specced myself ^^
I’m pretty satisfied, not because it gives the best dps but because it fits my style.
Thanks for clearing up on rotations, the page I wisited yesterday was pretty confusing about that part.

I’m using Wound on the main an Deadly on the OH. Maybe I screwed up my spec though because I took Deflection and then Riposte. Were these talents a waste?
