Happy New Year! I hope you’re all as excited about 2009 as I am (I measure my level of excitement as about a 9.4 on a scale of 5.4 to 10.1).
So the vacation time is over and it’s time to start rolling again in both my real and fake lives (you can decided for yourself which one I consider to be which). I’ve got a lot of fun stuff planned for the near future, not the least of which is that addons post I’ve been promising for awhile now. Trust me, it’ll be worth the wait, in fact, I’ll say that it will be worth it’s wait in gold. Ow…ok, yeah, that one was really bad, it actually caused me physical pain. I’d apologize but I don’t really want to. I’m getting mean so let’s move on shall we?

Argent Crusade Exalted. I’ve been working on this for awhile and their lack of decent dailies is really starting to irk me. I’ve done a bit of championing though and I should definitely hit exalted this week. I’ll then have a shiny pair of new boots, stacked with a delicious amount of hit to really open up some options.
I’ve been less than perfect with my gems and enchants for a little bit now. No more. Once I get my boots I feel I can do some really nice work and get a solid balance going. Expect a full report next week. Numbers are fun!
New Year’s Resolutions
I have only one resolution this year: Be Awesome. Can I pull it off? Only time will tell.
So what are your plans for this new year and week?
Isn’t it amazing that during the holiday break, while everyone is being complete slackers at work, a lot of us are slackin off in Azeroth as well. I swear, I farted around the whole break doing pretty much nothing. I did some fishing, cleaned up a bunch of old zones for the achievements, cleared some old dungeons I had missed coming up, but leveled exactly once.
Now that I finally dinged 80 (with much chiding by my guildies) and we’re back into the work grind, I’m back into my usual focused gaming. For this week:
Clear Zul’Drak Quests
Clear Stormy Peaks Quests
FINALLY clear Dragonblight Quests
Start in on the Basin quests.
As you can see, it’s a questing week for me. Probably for the best as I’m going to have to save up 5K for my epic flyer somehow!
Well lets see what did I get accomplished? My guild downed everything in Naxx but the last two bosses, which we couldnt get through the one because of the lack of frost resistance gear, but we now all have a piece, so we should be gtg. I swithed to mutilate, and much to my enjoyment, saw a massive increase in DPS on bosses, of course a lack of dps on trash pulls, if there was only a way to spec mutilate and still get bladeflurry, that would be win.
I’m hoping they patch today, so the friggin ret paly gets nurfed for BG’s, and people say Rogues are OP? Come on!
Your Recent Achievements WordPress plugin isn’t working for me. I’m on 2.6.X and am on the Aman’Thul server. In the plugin settings, how should I enter Aman’Thul as I think the ‘ may be messing things up.

Yes, it appears the ‘ is the issue. Please upgrade to the newest version (1.2) and this should be fixed.

ADDON POST – I CAN’T WAIT.
Im running a 15/51/5 set up no poisin … it was one your set ups … i will admit it has helped alot actually i play Duskwood server (Slappin) if you could take alook and maybe offer any help in what would help do the most dps …. Im playing around with different combo’s trying to sqeeze out the most i can get .. A guildie told me my problem was im playin a rogue ill never see 1500 dps outta 1 … I told him hes crazy ( Death Knight ) so im turning here for maybe any help to prove him wrong …. Thanx alot

Well, first off, your Death Knight friend is dead wrong.
Second off, you should start using poisons for sure. They are a huge part of our DPS in Wrath. Load up Wound/Wound or Wound/Deadly and I’m sure you’ll see a huge improvement right away.
I took a glance at your gear and it seems ok, though I would focus on getting rid of resilience (it’s useless for PVE) and adding some more Expertise and Hit.
After that, it’s really a matter of your rotation. I wrote a post recently on combat rotations, check it out.

You definitely should be using poisons. I actually just started my own Rogue blog and I addressed poisons first off. Check it out if you have any questions about why you should go Wound/Wound or Wound/Instant depending on how you play. Good luck and check me out on Duskwood sometime. Death to DKs!
