Hello, hello. Here we are again on everyone’s favorite day of the week, Friday. (Even though I actually find the Friday evening to Saturday afternoon to be the superior “day”, though it is not technically a day and since technically is the best kind of correct that doesn’t count). OK, I’m rambling because I haven’t had enough caffeine this morning. I’m going to remedy that very shortly but first I have a couple of macros for you that fall into the “one-button, space-saver” variety.
/cast Throw
Nothing fancy there, cast Deadly Throw if you have the combo points, otherwise cast throw.
For those of you still using Backstab (I love you by the way), here is a simple macro that will Ambush when you’re in stealth and backstab otherwise.
Have a macro request or suggestion? Leave a comment and I’ll see what I can do!
Stick to the shadows, I’ll see you next week.
Okay, I have a question that is completely unrelated to this post (forgive me and thank you for the macro tip!).
I did an instance with a rogue who was in pretty much all blue gear and I’m in mostly epics… and shamefully he did ten percent more Damage Per Second than i did!!!
Now I’m in mostly PvP Gear with a PvP Spec while he is in PvE Blues with Combat Spec, but will that make that much of a difference!? Surely I should have trounced him completely!
My Character Sheet:

His Character Sheet:
http://eu.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Arathor&n=Baro
I just want to figure out if I have a really crap ability rotation or if this is normal when it comes to the differences between PvE & PvP spec and gear.
Cheers.
Sildurerasan,
I can’t say if either of you has changed your gear since then, but a quick look shows that Baro’s got 500 more AP in his gear, to go along with higher hit, crit, and expertise. Plus, he’s wearing 4 pieces of T7. I suppose it’s possible he just added all of this gear, but putting you side-by-side, I’d be very surprised if he didn’t do meaningfully more damage than you did.
Also, Mut without HfB is a relatively weak spec in PvE. You’re losing 15% of your expected Mut Damage. Plus you don’t have precision in your build, which will lead to real hit problems…there are a lot of reasons that this guy should be dealing more PvE damage than you.
@Sildurerasan,
I’d say that Thimble answered your question pretty well. The thing about a PvP spec is that it is designed for burst against level 80 players. In PvE you want sustained against higher level mobs.
You shouldn’t expect to out damage a PvE rogue as a PvP rogue nor should you feel bad about it if you don’t
