CANT DPS IF YOU DIE. Let me clarify, Being dumb and taking a direct hit via whirlwind or standing in fire ='s dead reguardless of how much stam you have. But, if for some reason your taking damage that you cant avoid and you cant wait for that next heal commin your way then extra stam will show value. Fights dont always go perfect. Healers do get distracted sometimes, or lag.

Yea. In your 1st example pure dps stats do come out ahead if you skip the bonus. But, nobody factors in poor little stamina ;( You gotta give stam at least a tiny bit of credit. Sometimes that extra stam you get from your purple gems can be valuable and play a factor. Even the best rogues flirt with death sometimes before getting that nice heal.

You can put any colour gem in any colour socket, but doing so you may loose the socket bonus.

Zaltu!!
Great site bud.

Wouldn't the Nightmare Tear be a smidge better to use to satisfy blue Meta requirement?

If you're only matching one Blue socket I would suggest using the Nightmare Tear (+10 to all stats) instead of a Shifting Dreadstone as it's the same amount of Agi, 10 Sta instead of 12 and 10 Str (AP) It's prismatic so it would count for whatever color slot you put it in.

So for the first Blue slot you're looking at filling in your example of +20 AP and .24% Crit Chance vs +12 AP and .21% Crit change above actually would ammount to
+20 AP and .24% Crit Chance vs +22 AP and .21% Crit change
or .24Crit vs .21 crit and 2AP (and given that you need 1 Blue gem to activate the meta...)
However for any second blue slots that example works

@tedoubledy
You can put any gem in any socket. Matching color just gets you the socket bonus

how can you have 40 agi? im assuming you're putting the 20 agi cardinal gems but I was under the impression that you can't put a red gem in a yellow socket....
